Jan Goppert, Educator, RN

An experienced RN with a passion for educating and elder care, Jan joined the Blue Diamond Communities team in July 2017. With her LPN from Ivy Tech and her RN from Bethel College, Jan spent 20 years working in traditional long-term care facilities in many capacities. In 2005, Jan founded Health Careers Training & Development, where she is the Program Director and Instructor for education of long-term care facility, hospital, physician office, and clinic team members.

Jan learned of The Green House® Project many years ago and stresses the model of elder-directed care when she teaches CNA classes. She has always felt that the quality of an elder’s life begins with the CNA, "because they are the closest to the elders, get to know them and are able to give the nurse valuable information about the elders they care for." She is excited to be part of our local Green House® venture and to educate others about this innovative, elder-centered model of care.
